Designed by Clinical Founder Daniel Nichols, LCSW, our co-occurring treatment programming provides specialized care for clients who struggle with ongoing substance abuse alongside unresolved trauma, mood disorder or personality disorder. We address this complexity with an Integrated Health Model with Abstinence Focus which allows for sobriety to be established within a foundation of evidence-based clinical interventions, psychiatric care and resilience building.
Daniel Nichols, LCSW shares the philosophy behind Scottsdale Providence: providing individualized care that is supportive and challenging enough to help people grow. Treatment combines expert clinical guidance, an emphasis on personal responsibility, and a recovery community where clients build connection and fellowship together.
A comprehensive range of proven therapeutic modalities are used to meet your unique needs. From trauma-focused treatments to behavioral therapies, evidence-based approaches are combined to address the challenges you are facing and support steady, long-term progress.
Rebuild essential daily living skills and establish healthy routines through purposeful, meaningful activities. Our occupational therapists work with you to restore independence in self-care, productivity, and leisure while developing coping strategies that support long-term recovery and help you reintegrate into work, family, and community life.

“SPRC is hands down the greatest treatment center there is. They have great staff that is truly dedicated to helping people. Everyone is very down to earth and easy to get along with. Kara is an amazing therapist and their case manager Nicole is a life saver. If you are looking for help with mental health or substance abuse this is the best place to be.”
“By far the best treatment center I have ever been to. The clinical team is well educated, professional and works with cohesion to provide clients with the tools necessary for recovery. The facilities are very nice and the aftercare support is just as good as the inpatient support.”
“I was so afraid to go into treatment. When I came to Scottsdale Providence I was surprised to pull up to a mansion which would be my new home for a month. From my experience now in residence and PHP at the center I can say I have made significant progress and that's due to the facilities, the therapists (that actually care and had their own experience with substance abuse), the BHT's and the housemates. This is the best place to work on your recovery. I was adamant on only doing the 30 days and I ended stepping down to PHP and staying an additional two months. I can't say enough how grateful I am to have chosen Scottsdale Providence. If you or anyone else wants to get sober and or work on fheir mental health please contact SPRC this is the BEST place to do it.”
“Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center was excellent! Every member of the staff was kind, supportive, and showed that they truly cared about my recovery. They fostered an amazing culture. The facilities were beautiful and peaceful. The programming was very informative, helpful and relevant. I was very pleased with the therapists both in groups and the individual therapy sessions. I have been to other treatment centers and SPRC is by far the best.”
“I'm changing my review from 1 to 5 stars. Although I struggled at the residential house, I've been attending the PHP for mental health and I'm happy I decided to come back. I've been to different one-on-one therapists for years without much improvement, and I was skeptical about how effective group therapy would be. In a few short weeks, I've learned so much about myself and what's been keeping me in unhealthy thinking patterns. They have many different therapists that work together to approach care from different angles, and they foster a supportive group environment. At first I was overwhelmed by how different each therapist is, because I didn't know what to expect from one class to the next. Now I see how they have challenged each aspect of recovery; mind, body, and spirit. Thanks SPRC”
“I am beyond grateful that the stars aligned and I landed at Scottsdale Providence. God truly led me here. As someone that has been to inpatient multiple times I can confidently speak to the beauty and quality of this program. It is beyond compare to others treatment centers that I've received care at. The residential center is amazing. PHP program is much more than anything offered at other centers. The groups are detailed and oriented to self exploration and healing. Focusing on DBT, CBT, Inner Chikd, and Trauma work. I also received psychotherapy and trauma therapy sessions weekly. The therapists are available to clients more if needed. This center will always hold a special place in my heart and I am looking forward to participating in their alumni activities. I have made many lifelong friendships at Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center.”

“SPRC is beyond what I hoped it would be. This place literally saved my life. The staff are so helpful and caring. There are so many good things I can say about them. Whether it’s mental health or substance abuse the staff in this program help you with the necessary skills to not only improve your life, but to thrive. Thank you SPRC!!”
“SPRC HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED MY LIFE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHECKING IT OUT FOR ANY LOVED ONE OR FRIENDS WHO IS STRUGGLING WITH WHERE TO START. THEIR NEW LIFE BEGINS HERE.”
“SPRC is an awesome recovery center. The staff actually cares, The amount of services they provide is extensive. They have therapy I’ve never even heard of. There in patient program is extremely comfortable and places responsibility on keeping the house clean and not over doing it. They provide workout equipment for those of us who are active bodies. The techs know their stuff and even the clients are good people. It’s a judgment free area but they have accountability. They give you the appropriate tools for recovery for substance abuse and mental health. I highly recommend this center for anyone who is honestly looking for help.”

“I came into SPRC extremely broken and hopeless. I didn’t even want to believe I was an addict, but through the extremely detailed and informational groups and the 12 steps of C.A., I quickly realized I had more than just my mental health to work on. Dan and Shawn may be super blunt and straightforward and that’s not for everyone, but it’s always from a place of love and compassion. All of the staff and therapists actively work with you to figure out the best course of treatment and are very flexible as the program goes on. This was my third time in rehab and absolutely the most beneficial and lifesaving one. If you are at your lowest of lows and are desperately willing to better your life, Scottsdale Providence is the place to go.”
“Scottsdale Providence changed my whole life. I walked in completely broken, drinking and using to survive, carrying years of trauma and pain I didn’t even know how to set down. I didn’t know what I needed. I just knew I couldn’t keep living the way I was bc it was killing me. From the second I got there, the staff saw me in a way nobody ever has. They understood me. They didn’t judge me. Everything they do has intention. Nothing is random. There is rhyme and reason behind every group, every boundary, every tough conversation, and every moment they push you to sit with yourself instead of running. And honestly, the people you meet here… they’re a huge part of the healing. The patients are amazing bc the staff creates a space where everyone feels safe and connected. You end up being transparent in ways you never have before. You hear everyone’s truth. You share yours. You feel seen and less alone. That kind of honesty changes you. Most of the staff are addicts in recovery too, with years and years of sobriety. That makes such a difference. They don’t talk at you. They talk with you. They get the addict mind. They understand the shame, the fear, the spiraling, the survival mode. They know what it feels like to want to quit and still feel pulled back in. You just feel understood on a soul level. They didn’t just help me stop drinking and using. They helped me understand why I did it. They got to the root emotionally, physically, and spiritually. They taught me tools I actually use every single day. They challenged me when I wanted to shut down. They held space for me when I couldn’t catch my breath. Not once did I feel judged. I felt guided. I felt held. I felt like my life actually mattered. Scottsdale Providence didn’t just help me get sober. They gave me my life back. They gave my kids their mom back. They helped me find myself again. If you’re scared or feel like there’s no way out, I’m telling you from my own heart, this place is real. This is where healing actually happens. I’m forever grateful.”
