Designed by Clinical Founder Daniel Nichols, LCSW, our co-occurring treatment programming provides specialized care for clients who struggle with ongoing substance abuse alongside unresolved trauma, mood disorder or personality disorder. We address this complexity with an Integrated Health Model with Abstinence Focus which allows for sobriety to be established within a foundation of evidence-based clinical interventions, psychiatric care and resilience building.
Daniel Nichols, LCSW shares the philosophy behind Scottsdale Providence: providing individualized care that is supportive and challenging enough to help people grow. Treatment combines expert clinical guidance, an emphasis on personal responsibility, and a recovery community where clients build connection and fellowship together.
A comprehensive range of proven therapeutic modalities are used to meet your unique needs. From trauma-focused treatments to behavioral therapies, evidence-based approaches are combined to address the challenges you are facing and support steady, long-term progress.
Rebuild essential daily living skills and establish healthy routines through purposeful, meaningful activities. “SPRC changed my life completely! The staff is incredibly caring and they really do want to help people not only get sober but actually recover. I’ve been to treatment centers before and they just wanted my money. This place isn’t like that and it’s worth every penny. As scared as I was to enter treatment again, I’m so glad I did and I would highly recommend this center for anyone struggling with addiction and/or mental health!”
“This place is for the people who take recovery seriously and strive to be a better person. If you are struggling with addiction or mental health this place is for you. Please consider going to this if you need treatment they have 24/7 support, some really smart doctors and psychiatrists, and some large houses if your trying to get more out of treatment. My time was very long but extremely helpful here.”
“Scottsdale Providence changed my whole life. I walked in completely broken, drinking and using to survive, carrying years of trauma and pain I didn’t even know how to set down. I didn’t know what I needed. I just knew I couldn’t keep living the way I was bc it was killing me. From the second I got there, the staff saw me in a way nobody ever has. They understood me. They didn’t judge me. Everything they do has intention. Nothing is random. There is rhyme and reason behind every group, every boundary, every tough conversation, and every moment they push you to sit with yourself instead of running. And honestly, the people you meet here… they’re a huge part of the healing. The patients are amazing bc the staff creates a space where everyone feels safe and connected. You end up being transparent in ways you never have before. You hear everyone’s truth. You share yours. You feel seen and less alone. That kind of honesty changes you. Most of the staff are addicts in recovery too, with years and years of sobriety. That makes such a difference. They don’t talk at you. They talk with you. They get the addict mind. They understand the shame, the fear, the spiraling, the survival mode. They know what it feels like to want to quit and still feel pulled back in. You just feel understood on a soul level. They didn’t just help me stop drinking and using. They helped me understand why I did it. They got to the root emotionally, physically, and spiritually. They taught me tools I actually use every single day. They challenged me when I wanted to shut down. They held space for me when I couldn’t catch my breath. Not once did I feel judged. I felt guided. I felt held. I felt like my life actually mattered. Scottsdale Providence didn’t just help me get sober. They gave me my life back. They gave my kids their mom back. They helped me find myself again. If you’re scared or feel like there’s no way out, I’m telling you from my own heart, this place is real. This is where healing actually happens. I’m forever grateful.”
“There are few times in life, and even fewer in recovery programs when a glowing review is merited. In this case, we are experts. There is nothing to brag about, but we have decades of experience supporting a family member through substance use dependence and mental health issues. Scottsdale Providence was the best experience we have ever had. There are several reasons this facility stands out. Compassion- Every person I spoke with cared about the day-to-day and the outcome. It was uncanny. One can feign "care," but it is quickly obvious. The staff at SP invested as if they were supporting a member of their own family. Engagement - Out-of-the-box thinking and solutions- rather than the usual fixed and firm plans. Recovery is not one size fits all! A focus on recovery, not money- This was clear, in the staff's words but most significantly in their actions. Repeatedly, I saw actions/recommendations for my family member that offered little or no return for the program. Respect- The staff learns clients and honors "where they are at." Dignity is everything in these circumstances, and my family member felt heard. Impeccable communication- From the first contact through the transition. Outrageously special and valuable. SP is a fantastic program with a healthy house and incredible staff. This was a one-of-a-kind experience for our family. I only wish they offered longer-term housing. Do not hesitate to enlist their support; you will find relief, hope, and a world of possibilities.”
“Before coming to Scottsdale Providence I felt hopeless and I can truly say now that I no longer feel this way. Everyone on staff show up every day ready to provide education, support, and an overwhelming sense of care. I could not have asked for more and feel proud that my journey in life involved coming here!”
“SPRC is an awesome recovery center. The staff actually cares, The amount of services they provide is extensive. They have therapy I’ve never even heard of. There in patient program is extremely comfortable and places responsibility on keeping the house clean and not over doing it. They provide workout equipment for those of us who are active bodies. The techs know their stuff and even the clients are good people. It’s a judgment free area but they have accountability. They give you the appropriate tools for recovery for substance abuse and mental health. I highly recommend this center for anyone who is honestly looking for help.”

“SPRC was a wonderful experience. I did not have high hopes or expectations when I started but their staff was so welcoming and engaging it made the entire process worthwhile. I am very happy that I made the decision to enter their program and feel they have provided the tools for success. They are very encouraging and engaging.”

“I am so grateful to have found SPRC. From the moment I called inquiring help for my LO, Kyle was so helpful and understanding and patient. Once LO agreed to help, the whole team was quick to move in the processing of getting LO in treatment. Kassie was great the moment we walked into the center and we felt welcomed and encouraged. Lauren has been amazing as LO's case worker, always positive and responsive to my concerns and questions. And Dan, the gratitude we have from where we were to where we are now, is huge. And a big shout out to the resident house managers and Nicole for having the monthly online meetings to provide further resources and support for family members. There are many more that I'm sure were part on LO's care and they too, deserve to be recognized. Keep on doing what you are doing, because you all are amazing!❤️”
“I’ve been to a mental health hospital every month for the last several. This place was a really great different environment. Very fancy. It helped me learn a lot of skills. And swearing is perfectly normal at the facility.”
“Scottsdale Providence is amazing! The staff genuinely cares and does fantastic work”
“Great house with wonderful staff who truly care. Great 12 step recovery. I've been through here and I can't thank them enough; the help and support I've gotten here is amazing.”
“I’ve been waiting for SPRC all my life. Skilled, compassionate professionals driven to help those with mental health issues, addiction, trauma and other struggles. Dan and his team present and bring to life key concepts and support in a way that resonates with all types: young/old, blue-collar/professional, male/female, etc. Even the greatest skeptics who have tried many different recovery facilities will find a unique experience here where the tools and concepts land in a way they become assets for life. Couldn’t recommend this team enough.”
“I can’t say enough good things about SPRC. After years of putting off finding the right treatment for mental health, I struck a gold mine with this one. Each staff member is excellent in their own way, and everybody truly cares about each other. Would highly recommend to anybody needing to change their lives for the better!”
